Champ Camp Great Outdoors is a full-day summer camp for ages 5-12 held on the Colorado School of Mines campus in Golden, run by Champions, the school-age brand of KinderCare. Camp mixes outdoor exploration with STEM challenges, games and two field trips a week, and campers kayak, hike, swim and rock climb. Core hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with before care from 7:30 and after care to 5:30. Families can book a single week or the whole summer; the walkable campus is next to Clear Creek Trail and Golden's whitewater park.

★Abbie DavisPlanned activities cancelled due to too many kids in the camp. We paid for kids to go to Splash Golden but then cancelled due to too many kids at the camp.
★Aine WasilunasMy kids have done a number of camps in the area, and this was their least favorite, hands-down. Absolutely not worth the money. The field trips were fairly standard (Pirates Cove & Four Mile Historic Park). I personally did not get a good vibe from the counselors - they did not acknowledge when we arrived, greet the kids etc. My kids also told me the counselors intentionally made a mess and made the kids pick it up, because they (the counselors) have to clean up their messes every day (the kids). It was also the hottest week of the summer, and they still had the kids do activities outside. I would not recommend this camp and do not plan to return. (Also, I was not going to post a review, but I got about 20 email asking for feedback, so here it is.)

I love that while the kids are outside most of the day there is always time inside especially when the temperatures are high. My son loved being able to make tie dyes, learn simple science experiments, and meeting new friends. We are excited to go back next summer as well!
