Reading reviews of other events at this location it seemed to me that they really had everything together to make really fun and involved events. This easter egg dying class was anything but that. I had bought 6 tickets (over $120) and our group was provided 2 eggs and a basic egg dying kit from walmart, a few sharpies, and some glue and glitter. We had to ask to get 2 additional eggs for our group to dye (so we didnt even get 1 egg per ticket). Im pretty sure they actually only had a dozen eggs to give out and they ran out less than halfway through. There was no instruction or anything like a "class" where we felt that we made something more special than we could've at home. I bought these thinking there would be tons of eggs, paint stations, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, stickers/stencils, etc to really make a bunch of fun easter eggs for the kids. To the instructors - for $20 per person do better!! An egg dyeing experience AT AN ART STUDIO should be so much more than what the kids could do at home with a $9.95 kit from the store!
I took a teen and pre-teen with me to a Pour Painting event. One of us loves anything art, one of us can't draw a straight line, and the other falls in the middle. We all had the BEST experience. They are so friendly, and make you feel so welcome. The instructor gave such great info, money-saving tips, and was available to help and encourage everyone. We will definitely be back often. This is a great family activity, friends night out, or perfect place to make new friends. They offer so much more to the community than just events, you can follow them on social media to stay informed.
The special classes they do are awesome! The instructors go slow and explain techniques, origins and the different processes that that particular type of art has gone thru over periods of time. Some classes are pricier than others, but they always include all the materials required to participate. So all you do is walk in and get at it. However, the artwork here is amazing. The walls are filled with inspiration. I want so many pieces here! So even if you are looking for unique art, this must be a go to place!
Awesome. Now the creatives of HEB finally have a central area. This place is a wonderful addition to the community with amazing staff, amazing events, and even painting classes. Not to forget live concerts!! It’s about time we had something interesting around here. Something for everyone!
Such a fun and welcoming space! I came here for a course in ink drawing and got lots of one-on-one attention from a local artist in a small group setting. There was a professional artist among the group and I was a total beginner, but the teacher and facilitator both were really patient and appreciative of all skill levels. They also do wonderful volunteer work promoting art for students with special needs. I'm looking forward to going back!
