Powered by GoogleBeautiful camp, lots of activities for the kids!
This past summer I emailed, called, and left several voicemails for ryan regarding our application for summer camp aid. He never responded after the initial email, didn’t return any of the phone calls, and our daughter didn’t get to go to camp. She was so disappointed and I had no explanation for her. To this day I haven’t received any communication back, my last email was in August. Not sure if they are discriminating against families who need aid or what, but we are extremely displeased.
Over the past two years, this camp has made incredible improvements in every way—beautifully upgraded facilities, exciting and well-planned programs, and a team of staff who are now more engaged, well-trained, and enthusiastic than ever. It’s clear how much effort has gone into making this a safe, fun, and memorable experience for campers. We couldn’t be more impressed!
Great place if you are looking for a peaceful setting, without a bunch of planned activities. Once school is out, day camp begins and we enjoy listening to the kids laughing and enjoying their days. There is a nice beach and lake for swimming, also a playground for the kids. Nothing fancy here, and that is why we like it! Some sites are 20 amp, some have 30 amp. Water at each site. Inexpensive weekly pump out service or dump on your way out. Also rustic cabins for rent. Keep in mind this is a campground, not a fancy RV resort. Great place to spend a few nights or a season! 2021 Update: The Board of Directors has decided to close the campground part of Camp Westwood after this season.
Most unorganized business I’ve ever seen. Had to drive 45 minutes to and from this campground BEFORE my stay to fill out registration paperwork that easily could have been done over the phone. Arrived for paperwork only to find out they’ve been double booking and don’t know what sites are even available. Arrive and are charged for an additional night with staff that doesn’t know how to resolve this problem. Was told we could rent kayaks if we went to the office before 4. Arrived at 3, office already locked and closed. Explained this to the boathouse staff & was told they couldn’t help n this was an office problem not a boathouse problem. Our kids were so disappointed. Last night, we paid the office staff $15 for wood to be delivered to our site, took our money but wood never came. Only half our electricity worked. Whole stay was unpleasant with no resolve from any staff about any issues: not even an apology. Any other place would try to recover the business, but not this place. WE WONT BE BACK Oh god and the lifeguards!? Absolutely ridiculous! Every single adult on the beach was ready to attack over zealous, lifeguard nick, who’s power kick was more important than any fun being had. My older child reached for the hand of my younger to help her, and was yelled at for not keeping hands to herself. That whistle was blown every 30 seconds. Ruined the day, my kids were afraid to do anything besides stand still. AWFUL beach experience as well.
