I observed blurred professional boundaries between some staff and campers, which made me uncomfortable. Some campers appeared to feel pressure to adopt certain identities in order to fit in socially. Just my personal opinion!

This will be the third year our daughter has gone to Wawenock and our only regret is that she didn't go when she was younger. The camp staff are real experts in child development and it shows in the thoughtful ways the camp activities and traditions are structured. We are big fans of how they are very intentional about fostering relationships across different age campers. A full-summer camp has such advantages over shorter camps. It takes time to get comfortable and build relationships! The summer detox from screens is so important as well! We love Wawenock.

Camp Wawenock is my home away from home, where I have made friends that will last a lifetime. At Camp Wawenock you can learn many life long skills and also have fun doing a wide variety of activities on the water and off. The directors and counselors take time to get to know each camper personally through out the 7 weeks of camp. These are some of the things that keep me coming back to camp summer after summer. With out a doubt Wawenock has shaped who I am today and the one thing I look forward to over the school year is going back to be with my friends, and although in the end we are sad to go there will always be another summer to come at Wawenock.
