My kids loved their first summer at Camp Otter. They are 8 and 10.
Kids are assigned to cabins by age and not grade. No flexibility with moving kids to their friends cabin although they are in the same grade . This is something to consider. It’s nice to make new friends but kids like to be with their friends too. I will not consider the camp next year for this reason.
We did enjoy our stay at otter camp, but a couple of things lowered the rating of my overall experience. Firstly, I was looking forward to using the hot tub leading up to our visit, but once I got there, I was a little annoyed to find it empty & full of leaves/ bugs with a note saying I need to fill it myself & then wait 2-3 hours for it to warm up?! Was it to much to ask for a clean & full hot tub on arrival which only needed warming? Secondly, I ordered a meal for our first night & it consisted of a large takeaway container of homemade chilli, a small boil in the bag rice, a bag of store bought nachos & raspberries/ brownie for pudding, costing £30! Which I felt was massively overpriced for what we got!
Great adventure for children from age 6 to 14. There is something to do each day. Great summer day camp.
