Camp Kateri is a 550-acre Girl Scout resident camp in Hawthorne, about 30 minutes southeast of Gainesville, operated by Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. Girls in grades K–12 attend week-long or half-week overnight sessions built around canoeing, kayaking, archery, fishing, swimming, hiking and campfire traditions, with each camper building her own personalized schedule; 2026 added a week-long sailing camp for grades 8–12 on the camp's Lake MaCarthy. Campers sleep in cabins, platform tents or treehouses depending on age and session, and the property has two spring-fed lakes, an inflatable aqua park and a six-lane archery range. Camp is open to non-Girl Scouts, who pay a $35 membership fee on top of the session fee, and financial assistance is available.

A fantastic Camp for Girl Scouts, run by Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. Summer camps for all Girls, Kindergarten through High School, available to all girls, not just Girl Scouts. Younger girls enjoy the camp and benefit from background checked, (mostly) female mentors and the encouragement and guidance from older Girl Scouts who can be trained and work or volunteer as Counselors and Program Aides, and more. Opportunities for fun in Nature, while learning independence, self confidence, and responsibility along the way. Older girls/young adults continue to enjoy the camp while learning leadership skills and receive training according to their age to become Counselors or Program Aides, and to earn money and volunteer hours as well.
Went with 2 of my granddaughters for a Girl Scout archery weekend. All 3 of us enjoyed the camp, the company and the whole experience.
We came here with our GS Troop 61234. We LOVED it! The hosts were so accommodating and everything was so well planned out. Our troop loved all of the activities and had so much fun. We plan on coming back again, soon!
The camp area looks good. The treehouses are very interesting. The place is spacious and there is a lot of space for kids to enjoy the outdoors.
Loved it. Great environment the girls had fun as well as the adults. I would definitely come back.
