Camp Ithiel is a Christian overnight camp and retreat center on 20 acres in Gotha, near Orlando, run by the Atlantic Southeast District Church of the Brethren since 1948. Summer overnight sessions serve youth entering grades 4 through 12, with separate Kids, Junior, Junior High, and Senior High camps. Activities include canoeing and kayaking, archery, swimming, hiking, big group games, campfires, and Bible study.

All of the staff were amazing and accommodating of my kids medical and developmental differences. We started our week anxious as this was new for us, and ended the week with kids promising their new friends we’d be back next year. My oldest daughter is still wearing the “warm and fuzzy” craft friend she made as a necklace daily to feel close to her friends at camp. I can’t praise this program enough and we are so blessed to be afforded the opportunity for the girls to attend both the junior and kids camps. Thank you, Camp Ithiel staff and directors!

It also serves as a charter organization for some youth groups in the region. I recommend putting sunscreen and bug spray on for summer activities. There’s an open pavilion with a pool, plenty of greenery and free and safe space to get close to nature. Parking is free of charge and available as a first come first serve base.
