Camp Huston is an overnight camp in Gold Bar, Washington, operated by Huston Camp and Conference Center as part of the missionary and educational outreach of the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia. Campers spend the week in Discovery Groups made up of two cabins of similarly-aged campers with their counselors, doing games, songs, hikes, team-building, camp outs, archery, swimming and crafts, with a whole-camp campfire, variety show and dance during the week. Summer 2026 ran week-long Discovery Camps for rising 3rd-10th graders, a four-day Mini Camp for rising 1st-5th graders, three Horse Camps at beginner and intermediate levels for ages 10-15, and Counselor Training for those 16+ who have completed 10th grade. An Episcopal priest joins every session and each Discovery Group plans a nightly chapel; the camp is ACA-accredited and uses a self-selected three-tier pricing model alongside the Bishop Curtis and Director's scholarship funds so families choose the fee level they can afford.

The staff is caring and professional. The buildings are clean. Their meals are delicious and the cooks are able to accommodate dietary restrictions. (I'm gluten-free.) The scenery is pure magic! The foothills of the Cascades are simple gorgeous. We've had sunshine, fog, snow, and rain over the years. This year a young black bear made an appearance, even! The sleeping accommodations are simple, but reflect the affordable cost. I can handle bringing my own linens if it keeps the cost down.
