Camp Greenway is a traditional co-ed day camp that has run on The Madeira School's McLean campus since 1973, for boys and girls in rising kindergarten through 10th grade. Campers rotate through different age-appropriate activities each day plus special all-camp activities every week, with swimming daily (a bathing suit and towel are on the everyday packing list), high ropes, and outdoor play; lunch is provided and most dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Carpool drop-off runs 8:15 to 9:00am and pick-up 3:15 to 3:45pm, and Extended Day care is available 3:00 to 5:30pm for a fee ($235/week or $65/day) with a snack, games, crafts and an extra weekly swim block. Six sessions run from mid-June through July, priced $600 to $1,500, and a new sibling discount gives 10% off each additional child.

Great boat ride, great DJ's and fairly good food and plenty of good music.

Although expensive my son loved their summer camp! The counselors were very nice to my son.

Camp Greenway used to be a great thing, campers would age out and became counselors in training then counselors and then spent their adult life working summers there. That is not the case anymore. Far fewer campers, seems like fewer counselors and no more counselors in training - all of the original people are gone. It's so different that it was when my kids were younger. The last two years we went my kids said that their counselor let other kids use their inhaler, my son and other boys got involved in a lot of rough housing and there was some bullying. One boy was dragged by his shoes by all the boys while counselors looked on. My kids were exposed to a nasty stomach bug called C-Diff will visiting grandma at the nursing home. I told the camp we should probably not come and asked for a partial refund - they said no and go ahead and come. All they care about is money. No concern for a nasty stomach bug that takes out whole cruise ships. I cared, and kept my kids at home so as to infect others. I'm really sad to say this because this summer would be my daughters last but she won't be going. All good things come to an end.
