I went summer 2024 and did not enjoy it. An important aspect for me when choosing summer programs is how they accommodate dietary restrictions. On the website it says that they accomodate vegans and vegetarians, but they had the same thing about 4-6 days in a row for breakfast and dinner, and once I was given a plate of raw tofu for dinner. Other than that my experience was okay; the staff was welcoming and I found some of the programs interesting, but don't go here if you are vegan or vegetarian.

I can't say enough good things about this camp! Every single moment has been planned to offer your child the best opportunity for fun, friendship, growth, belonging, skill building, and a sense of community. My children arrived at Camp Emerson feeling nervous, then homesick and hungry for their electronic devices. However, over the next few days they realized they truly enjoyed playing in nature, being silly, creating, learning, and making new friends! They learned what it's like to unplug and find their inner strength in an environment that caters not only to fun, fun, fun (which there is a ton of!) but also to nurturing interpersonal relationships in beautiful, healthy surroundings with activities galore! Their time at camp provided our kids with so many experiences they never would have had otherwise. Also, there are people there from all over the world. We think that is one of the highlights that this camp offers. The counselors were energetic, kind, responsible, and truly loved our kids. There were tears at pick up! Seeing a stranger care for your child that way- there is almost nothing as heart warming! Our children can't even remember all the cool things that they did at Camp Emerson, but it seems that they are constantly telling us some new tidbit about their time there. Every second was obviously well utilized. They have each kept in touch with campmates who they hope will be forever friends, and we are sure they will. We look forward to what next year will bring and are looking to further extending their time spent at Camp Emerson! Highly recommend!

This is our second year sending our daughters (11 & 9 years old) to Camp Emerson for 6 and 4 weeks and our first year sending our son (7 y/o) for 2 weeks. This Camp is absolutely magical and so very well run. The director, Sue, is an amazing leader. She is nurturing, kind, empathetic, informative and just an overall great person. The camp counselors they have are so invested in making sure each child feels special and is taken care of. They are so much fun and the kids talk about them all year round! The friends my children have made have become family friends who we see and talk to during the year. We actually had a camp friend travel 7 hours with their parent to stay with us before the start of camp so the kids could ride the bus there together! I would highly recommend for anyone looking into sleep away camps for their child to give Sue a call. She loves hearing about your child and family!

I went to Camp Emerson last summer. It was incredibly amazing. I got to do so many new things, like wake board and tubing and sailing. It was a great experience to not have to worry about my food allergy and the food was so good. The counselors were very nice and I got to learn new tricks for editing photography and the field trip to Ramblewild was one of my favorite things too. I recommend this camp to any kid wanting to go to an amazing overnight camp.
