Our kids have gone to Earthworks camp (At home in the woods) for many summers. They love it so much that even after we moved across the country, our two return visits have both involved letting the kids come back to this camp! They've come home smeared in charcoal, wielding knives (safely), and sometimes having prepared interesting foods. My teen returned this year as a leader in training and confirmed it's still "the best camp." If your kid is into developing outdoor skills, it's worth making the trip to Conway.

I attended 3 workshops at the Earthwork Programs (Survival Kit Essentials, Wild Edibles & Medicinals and Cooking over a Fire - Outdoor Cooking). Frank led each workshop and was informative and had a hands on approach to teaching. It was great to learn these skills in person rather than trying to figure it out over a video. Each workshop was about 3 hours long so it was a full day of hands on learning. I left feeling inspired and with a greater appreciation of nature/the wilderness. Part of the inspiration was to continue on the path to learning how to navigate through and become one with nature. I ended up buying a knife and flint striker that day. The workshops made me realize there are a few other items I would like to add to my wilderness survival repertoire such as a headlamp and poncho. It was satisfying for my soul as a human to learn these skills. Skills that are in our DNA and are being lost due to modern times/technology.

10/10 would recommend! My wife gifted me a full weekend of workshops because I’m always watching survival shows (naked and afraid, alone, ect…) but I’ve never experienced any survival training myself. Frank was an amazing teacher! He taught us several ways to make fire even in the pouring rain, including friction fire. We also learned how to forage for wild edibles and medicinals. Much to my surprise, all the wild edibles we tried were DELICIOUS! And speaking of delicious, Frank, Alexandra, and the rest of our group prepared a meal over a fire that tasted so amazing, you would’ve thought It was prepared by a chef at a 5 star restaurant. Our group was awesome, everybody worked well together and had a great time. I’ve never felt so connected to nature and my peers and I left with a sense of accomplishment and pride that I can’t quite find the words to describe. Thank you to Frank and my group for making this an experience I’ll remember for a lifetime. I can’t wait to get back out there and learn more!!

My 80 year old father had the 10,000 Islands in the Everglades on his bucket list. He is an avid paddler but my sister and I had no idea how to navigate the Everglades, camp, food let alone just know where to go and how to not get forever lost. Frank and his team were perfect and did an awesome job making hard decisions when the weather came up. He lead our group of 10, with ages ranging from 18 to 80, wonderfully giving tips on paddling when needed, pointing out wild life and feeding us amazing meals. Cant say enough about what a great trip it was, one we could not have done with him.

My son and I have been attending earthworks weekend program classes for many years. We absolutely love it!! There is something for everyone at all skill levels. The instructors are connected and caring and demonstrate a genuine love and desire for sharing their knowledge and experience. Each class is a unique opportunity to refine your outdoor skills, connect with likeminded people and deepen your relationship with nature. We are so grateful we found the earthworks community. Highly recommend!
