This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at any health club. I have been trying to reach the director of membership over a concern of mine and I’ve been ignored for a week, calling every day leaving the same message. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect. When she finally answered the phone saying she’s been busy, not even an apology. Do not give your money to this place.

Had a very upsetting experience here over a decade ago at this point that I’ve kept coming back to. I took lessons here and passed my test ultimately. But then when going back for an open lap swim session. the lifeguard followed me up and down the pool and afterwards said they were nervous and that open swim was not ideal and I should do 1:1 instruction. Except I had already did it at this very YMCA, I believe with Josie or another instructor, not long before that open swim session. So why the hell would they pass me to go swim anywhere else if I can’t even do supervised open swim at the YMCA??? It was humiliating at the time but now I realize it was a huge liability to even pass me. I don’t recommend adult swim lessons here.

Nothing has changed at this Y in over a decade. The same rude, unprofessional behavior others flagged 12+ years ago continues especially within membership services. My interaction with Laura was hostile and dismissive and appeared discriminatory. Call it what it looks like. Hatred doesn’t elevate anyone; it exposes them. While this location remains stuck in petty, ugly behavior, the rest of us move forward choosing dignity and decency. I was contacted about an alleged outstanding balance despite bank records clearly showing successful withdrawals for both my membership and my daughter’s swim lessons. After disputing this and providing documentation, both services were canceled and a refund was refused. The matter was escalated to the Regional Business Manager, who acknowledged it but continues to request additional bank statements, unnecessarily delaying what should be a straightforward refund. I am still waiting for my refunds and expect this to be resolved promptly.

The staff at the Burbank YMCA after-school program are truly amazing. My daughter absolutely loves going there and often asks to stay even longer! She's made wonderful friends, feels accepted, and is surrounded by care and support. The program keeps her engaged, active, and entertained with a variety of activities, making every afternoon something to look forward to. As a parent, it's such a relief to know she's in such great hands, and I’m incredibly grateful for the positive, enriching environment the YMCA provides. Highly recommend!

We were only there for a short time because my kids were going off to public schools but they just needed something to do to finish up their summer vacation. I’m very happy with how quickly my twins were welcomed and made a part of their class! The teachers were amazing! Very respectful, responsive and understanding. Definitely highly recommend their program! Thank you for all you do 🫶🏼
