Powered by GoogleI came to Bridgeview School of Fine Arts with a strong desire to learn how to render human portraits. I was searching for art classes online when I came across the Bridgeview school. The reason I chose Bridgeview over other schools was because of the works of the teachers and students. I wanted to be as good as those teachers. My current teacher Sasha Budaev is driven by passion, constantly sharing his tremendous knowledge of anatomy, composition, art history, color theory, philosophy , literature and many other things. Most importantly Sasha makes his students think, and not just copy what is in front of them.
My son had zero basic drawing skills when he started the program at Bridgeview. His creativity was digital based - making little animations. I’m impressed how much he grew in the six months worked with Boris one of their instructors.
My daughter and I began taking classes at Bridgeview a couple months ago. I wish we had known about it sooner! Everything about it is wonderful: the teachers, the space, the approach, the one-on-one guidance… the teachers set each student up with a still life to suit that student’s needs and skill level. There is no nonsense. In my experience everyone is focused and busy at work. I imagine we will continue to take classes here as long as we live in New York City. My daughter is studying with Boris and I am studying with Leo. ***UPDATE: my daughter was accepted to both LaGuardia and Frank Sinatra. She could not have put her amazing portfolio together without the guidance of her teacher at Bridgeview. THANK YOU BORIS AND THANK YOU BRIDGEVIEW!
My daughter began attending this art school in the summer of 2024. She absolutely loves going, each class inspires her, and we’ve seen her skills and confidence grow tremendously. Her drawing has improved so much, and the supportive environment encourages her to always do her best. She also took specialized classes to prepare her high school portfolio, which were incredibly helpful. Her instructors, Boris and Varvara, have been wonderful. She loves their teaching style, and it’s clear they truly care about their students progress. We love this art school. From our experience, it has helped my daughter in so many ways, both artistically, personally, and we’re very grateful for the positive impact it’s had on her. Highly recommend!
I started taking classes at Bridgeview a few weeks ago and so far I love it! The instructors are very professional and give very helpful feedback on where I could improve. The style of class is exactly what I was looking for - it’s pretty much open studio time, with the instructors coming by and giving personalized feedback on your work throughout the session. I love this because I had some art training growing up, and I didn’t want a beginner level class or instruction that catered to the greatest common denominator. I was also looking for a way to regularly get myself painting, and this was the perfect way. The studio space is also lovely, well-lit and in a beautiful part of LIC! See photos for some watercolors I’ve painted in just a couple weeks of classes!
