The Beverly Yacht Club in Marion runs a junior sailing program for children ages 6–17 (and 18 if they turn 18 that season) on Sippican Harbor and Buzzards Bay, with private instruction also available. Club membership is not required to take classes, though registration priority goes to members, grandchildren of members and returning students. The Peggs Francis Young Skipper Scholarship funds up to two first-time junior sailors each summer, awarded to young Marion residents who are not yet club members.
