Beaver Summer Camp

I signed up my daughter for the extended day option and called to request a cancellation/refund as we no longer needed this option. I was informed by Eileen that this would not be possible as beaver does not offer any refunds/adjustments after April 1st. I understand that this policy would be reasonable for enrollment but just wanted to request a partial refund for the extended day program which she stated would be impossible. All the other camps that my daughter is signed up for this summer offered a refund to cancel their extended day options. Beaver has a very strict policy and my daughter and son will not sign up for future summer camps at beaver. There are plenty of other great summer camps in the area that are much more flexible and understanding.

Our family has been in the Newton area for about 8/9 years now with children in the 10/7 years old group. Ever since our children were toddlers we have been told about Beaver Summer Camp. For the last 7 years it’s the one thing our kids look forward to attending each year and as a parent there is no better run summer camp than Beaver. All the thoughtfulness and hard work that goes into planning and connecting kids with friends and making new friends is really special. The directors especially Andrew in Middle Camp and Sue, the main director, go above and beyond to look out for each kid so that they have the best experience! We highly recommend Beaver camp as the best summer camp! Please save the date and set your alarm in December to register for the camp before it sells out! See you there!

The place is really nice and staff very kind, but although the young staff is nice and funny I think they lack of skills to properly engage kids of same group as a unity, knowing each other’s names and put some boundaries among these little entitled kids. My son loved the activities and his counselors but had issues to bond with other kids who probably have been attending this camp for years, so I was expecting, for the price (which is not cheap!) to have more skilled staff. Experience that won’t be repeated

As a returning counselor at Beaver Summer Camp, I have a better sense than most for exactly how incredible a camp it is. From the top down, the opportunities given, the privileges provided, and the care given to Beaver children are beyond remarkable. Staff are hired with a very clear type in mind: a rare balance of mature and playful, responsible and attentive but also engaging and friendly. The ones that don't truly, deeply enjoy enriching the lives of children do not last long here. That's why I'll be working at Beaver for a lot of years to come, and that's why both of my children will come here just as soon as they're old enough.
