I emailed Ellen to get more info for the fishing camp since there is not a schedule or pricing. When I asked what $500 is paying for since they have to provide their own rods? Her response was fishing and fun. I then proceded to ask if they provide lunch, do they kayak, what locations do they go to? She said they do not provide lunch or snacks only water and could possibly kayak. It was up to the instructor and told me it doesnt sound like it sounds like a fit for me. Only because I was asking questions to see what my kids would be doing all day. Most camps for $500 have a variety of activities and provide lunch, etc. This sounds like a scam to me and how she wrote me off was very rude.

Beware of the fishing camp offered by BCSC. It is a scam in that you are paying nearly $500 for a teenager on his phone to supervise your child while your child does nothing but sit by the water and fish - all day. There is no instruction, no oversight, no activities, no games, and no breaks other than lunch. My child was given the opportunity to swim one time the entire week (there was no inclement weather which would cause this not to be an every day thing). The website claims campers will "learn to collect bait, select a fishing spot, bait hooks, cast a line and reel in a “keeper” that will be released for this catch and release program." They are not taught ANYTHING. They don't collect bait - they are given worms. No one helps them bait their hooks. They aren't taught to select a fishing spot - they are simply asked which of the X spots they want to be at that day. There is no instruction unless they ask for help. When I mentioned this in an email to the director, Ellen, she replied: "They usually know how to cast and catch and help and instruction is given individually as needed." Between my child and his friend, they managed to catch 1 fish the entire week. This isn't a camp fit for children. Avoid.

BCSC summer camp was just great. My 10 year old son participated in the beginner ospry sailing 101 camp. Over 2 weeks he learned how to properly rig, capsize, care for, and sail a Dragon sailboat. He LOVED the entire experience and is pumped to go back next year.

Great place for kids and family to learn about boating. Sail boats, kayaks and SUPs. Seasons include Spring, Summer Camp and Fall boating. Beautiful venue on the water with beach access.

Its my first time here and its horrible, Charged us $8 per person only thunder no rain and we had some sun with clouds didnt let us go swim in the beach. It then rained sun came out still didnt let us swim in the beach. Better to go to another beach way better than this one. Water is dirty just like in breezy point.
