Local chapter (Region 1505) of AYSO, the national nonprofit youth soccer organization, serving San Elijo Hills, San Marcos and nearby communities. It primarily runs recreational Fall and Spring soccer seasons with volunteer coaches, a Jamboree program for 4-year-olds, and an EPIC program for players with physical or mental challenges, and also offers supplemental soccer camps. AYSO rules require every player to play at least half of every game.

★★★★★Michael PirragliaOur daughter plays on the 2015 United team with Coach Adam. He’s probably one of the best coaches for kids I have ever interacted with and experienced…especially with the dynamics of coaching a group of 7yr old girls. Our team has a lot of good players who understand the game and have already developed some basic skills. Our daughter likes the game, but is much more about having fun with her friends/team. She didn’t want to play at first, but Coach Adam has made it much more than “soccer” for her. She has a set role and responsibilities that Coach assigned to her: she’s the “hype-girl” who comes up with the “cheer” at the end of every practice and was put in charge of working with the rest of the team to come up with their team’s “name”. I love how Coach was able to identify activities/roles, not just based on ability, but also the girls’ personalities. We also have the best Team Manager/Mom, Nicolette! Great group of girls, great coach, great manager…overall great experience.
★★★★★Destiny PhoenixOur daughter is about to wrap up the first season with coach Junior, we want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Coach for putting in his 110% effort to bring a group of new girls together and making an incredible team out of them winning championship after championship. We all had our ups and downs at the start trying to know each other but we have learned to respect one another and together, we are all so happy we are a part of this team with Coach Junior leading the way. He has worked hard and our girls respect him so much. We can see how much the girls have grown and improved with Coach Junior. We Are looking forward to continue strengthening this incredible bonds for our girls and be a part of this wonderful Matrix family. Both our children have played for a few other clubs BUT there is no comparison to our experience at Matrix. We love all the coaches. It’s a tight knit community and we feel so welcome and loved. ★Met TMy brother came home from almost every practice and game crying because the coach yelled at him all the time. We thought the whole idea of being on the team was so he could develop and improve his soccer skills but the coach constantly yelled at him and put him down. My brother rarely got put into the game because he didn't get the practice he needed from the coach. That further took away from his learning experience because he ended up sitting out for the majority of all games and wasn't able to even experiment with his skills and try to learn on his own. A league for 7 year olds should not be entirely focused on winning every game but should be focused on teaching the kids how to play and helping them develop the skills necessary to be successful with soccer.
★★★★★Erick PetersenNever once in over the year that we've been with this club have I heard a coach curse at a kid at this club, in fact that couldn't be further from the truth. I have a daughter finishing up her first year here and she has been nurtured, and supported in what could best be described as a family atmosphere. They are welcoming to her younger sister coming out on the field often, and the coach (Junior) has taken a fairly new group of girls to an incredible team that is winning tournaments the right way (passing, teamwork, buildup play, etc.). By all means show up at a practice, game, or tournament and witness how this club is run for yourself. It is top notch.

Prior to this year, we'd done many years between both kids of AYSO rec, but playing on the Matrix team is a whole other level which is unmatched. There was incredible camaraderie between the boys as well as the parents...we really all got to know each other so well during the (long) season. Not only has our sons love of the game grown stronger, but his soccer IQ grew immensely due to our awesome Coach (Coach Junior) and it was so fun to see the level of play grow exponentially with each passing month. The price was just right for us to enter into competitive soccer and we look forward to another awesome year with NC Matrix!
