We've seen some great shows here. Going to see In The Heights tomorrow (June 2026). The acting is good, the sets are awesome, and the house management is friendly.

We went to see "The play that goes wrong" and it was a blast! We laughed so hard we nearly fell out of our chairs 😄 There is a small snack bar with refreshments, wine and sweets near the entrance with reasonable prices. I wish Aurora will do more productions based on classical works, including dramas.

If you are looking to book a field trip, LOOK ELSEWHERE! I have taken my lower elementary school students here for years and these past two years have been a nightmare. Last year, our kindergarteners were scheduled to see Miss Nelson is Missing. Unfortunately, we got snow and we had to reschedule three different times (each day we rescheduled we got more snow and school was cancelled), which is not the problem. After the third time, we just gave up and asked for a refund since we did not get to see the show. The field trip coordinator gave us such a fight about refunding our families for a show we didn't even get to see! I was appalled at the lack of understanding considering we didn't even see the show. I could understand if we were at fault, but the entire county cancelled school and we had no control of that. She finally did give a refund after our bookkeeper was very firm and told her we would not book again if that was how she handled it. Fast forward to this year, we were scheduled to see Flat Stanley at 11:45 with our kindergarteners. We were told to arrive early to ensure we could get seated and that the show would not wait for late arrivals. We loaded 100+ kindergarteners and arrived by 11:05, just to be told we have to wait in a parking lot a block away while they unload the theatre. Once again, no problem! The problem came in when we waited on the bus for AN HOUR with 60 kindergarteners between two buses. The bus was hot, we had 2 students vomiting, several bathroom emergencies, and lots of tears. I was so disappointed in the lack of consideration for our young students who paid to be there. Once we finally got in, the young attendant at the front was incredibly rude and told us "well I am frustrated too, there is nothing I can do". While I understand things happen and shows run late, it was absolutely unacceptable that we were left on the bus for as long as we were. Our 11:45 show didn't start until 12:30, and by that point our students were tired, overstimulated, and all of the magic of the theatre was gone. I am so disappointed at how this went down today and I will never book another field trip here. I would also never recommend any schools to book here as well because of the lack of consideration. It felt more money driven than child driven and that saddens me. The performers were fantastic but unfortunately after the experience we had arriving, it was hard to enjoy the show.

Went to watch the 30th Christmas Canteen at the Aurora Theatre and we were blown away! Such an entertaining and professional show from the vocals to the musicians to the humorous banter between numbers. We loved it so much, we saw it twice! I highly recommend you see a production from the Aurora Theatre for yourself!

Last night was our first visit to the Aurora Theatre. We went to see a preview of The Wiz and it was absolutely amazing! From the warm customer service and convenient parking to the tasty concessions, beautiful artwork, & outstanding performance, everything was top tier. It’s such a treat to enjoy a Broadway-quality show without having to drive into the city!
