I initially signed up through a Groupon promotion that advertised four classes, but I was later required to pay for one of those classes, which was confusing and not clearly explained. After that, we purchased an additional set of classes along with a membership. During our second week, my child became ill with the flu. When I called to reschedule, I found the process extremely frustrating. The staff member repeatedly referenced company policy without allowing for a meaningful conversation or any flexibility. While I understand the need for policies, the rigidity made it difficult to handle a situation involving a sick child. This strict rescheduling policy also raises a larger concern. It seems to unintentionally encourage parents to bring in sick children to avoid losing money. During our visits, I consistently observed other children who appeared visibly ill (coughing, runny noses), which made the environment feel uncomfortable and, at times, unsanitary. I ultimately decided to cancel my membership. Unfortunately, the cancellation process reflected the same lack of flexibility. Despite having very limited remaining classes and not being able to attend due to illness, I was still charged, which felt unreasonable. Additionally, the facility itself did not appear well-maintained from a cleanliness standpoint, and the class structure felt disorganized. The sessions did not give the impression of being led by staff with a strong background in early childhood development. Overall, this was not a positive experience, and I would not return. I would encourage the business to reconsider its policies, communication approach, and cleanliness standards to better support families.

The South Sound PreK Academy at Ascend Dupont is phenomenal. My child is in their second year here and we couldn’t love it more. The academics are impressive, the facility is safe and secure, and the staff is warm and caring. As a parent, it is such a relief to not have to worry at all after drop-off each morning knowing your child is in excellent hands. I recommend this PreK to anyone and everyone and am so grateful that this was my child’s first school experience.

We rented this space to host a birthday party for our children (2 and 5). Not only was it incredibly affordable, but they did a fantastic job of hosting. They were very attentive, and ensured all the kids stayed safe. Set up and teardown was very easy, and they keep it very clean and tidy. The kids had a blast, and we would highly recommend this venue for parties. Extra special thank you to the staff that helped make our kids party perfect.

Love the positive environment, feels like family. Hands down the best place for kids to learn, build confidence and be strong. 10 stars for Ascend Gymnastics Dupont & South Sound Pre-K Academy.

We absolutely love South Sound Pre-K Academy! My son attended 2 years of pre school for 3 and 4 year old program. The staff and teachers are absolutely loving, and caring towards all their students. They are very supportive of military families and understanding when their students are facing difficulties with deployment and training exercises. The curriculum and the learning environment is amazing, my son when he started Kindergarten this past Fall, he was ahead of his peers in areas of reading and writing. When he completed pre school he was writing his full name, and reading before he started Kindergarten.
