A.L.M.A. runs a summer culture camp, “5 Ways Around the World,” in which campers explore the games, art, music, stories and cuisine of different cultures through collaborative projects, with play and outdoor time between activities and a celebration of their work at the end. The camp is run by the Forest Park studio, which also offers year-round piano, guitar and voice lessons plus Spanish and Portuguese classes for children and adults. Campers are grouped by age, roughly 3–6 and 7–11. Daily hours are not published.

Powered by GoogleUPDATE: I am updating this review to restate how great A.L.M.A. has been for our son! He went to A.L.M.A. for a year before starting kindergarten at our local public school. When he started kindergarten, we could see how well-prepared he was for this experience, both in terms of academics and social-emotional learning. We are grateful to A.L.M.A.'s teachers for their great work and all the support we received. They really truly care about each child who attends A.L.M.A. and they genuinely want each child to have the best possible experience. A.L.M.A. is an amazing place!! (first review) We started A.L.M.A.'s summer camp this June and we are very happy about this decision. The teachers are very professional, kind, and thoughtful. The space is very well organized, with many resources and opportunities for learning. This daycare fosters connection and creativity. Our son is having fun in a nurturing environment, and that's the most important thing!
I have been attending lessons for several months now, and I have had such a positive experience. I am learning to play the guitar as an adult, which is an exciting but challenging experience. Gingi has done an excellent job of scaffolding my learning experiences, which has caused me to grow in my confidence and ability to play the guitar! She really sees who I am, strengths and deficits, and is able to hone in and fill in all my musical missing gaps!
I can’t say how incredibly grateful we as a family are for these amazing women. MsGingi is an incredibly passionate, loving, kind and inspiring teacher. Thank you ALMA for enriching our lives.
My kids started taking piano and music lessons and loved it. They have since transitioned to guitar lessons also, and I’ve started taking adult guitar lessons too. We now can play songs together as a family band and it’s been a blast. Great for children and families. Music fundamentals such as chord structures are taught, not just memorization of notes to play in a sequence, so the kids understand what makes a major and minor chord work. Fantastic experience!
We are so very happy that our children had the chance to meet Ms Gingi and Ms Rita. The music leasons with Ms Gingi are been magical for my daughter, she is such a free spirit and Ms Gingi has been very patient with her, using an unique technique of teaching, my daughter is not just improving and learning but keeping her interest in music and motivated for her next lesons. We recently enrolled my two daughters with Ms Rita to a Portuguese leasons. After their first class, it’s been a whole week of singing Portuguese song. I don’t know how this happened but they are so motivated to learn and keep asking when is their next leasons and when are they going to see Ms Rita. If you want to see your child motivated, happy to learn and keep interested in music and language A.L.M.A. is the place to begin with.
