Albemarle Ballet Theatre is a dance school in downtown Crozet, founded in 2005, running week-long summer dance camps from mid-June through early August. Exploring Ballet (ages 3-5) is a half-day camp, 9am-12pm, covering ballet technique, flexibility, coordination, creative movement, games and stories from the classical ballets; campers decorate a costume they keep and give a demonstration on the last day. The Beginner Dance Camp (ages 6-8 and 7-10) runs 9am-2pm and mixes ballet, jazz, modern, theatre, music, Capoeira, crafts and sewing. Craft supplies and snacks are included, and evening summer classes in ballet, pointe, jazz and modern run alongside for all ages and abilities.
