Charlottesville Ballet Academy runs summer dance camps at its Downtown at IX Art Park studio (949 Second Street SE) in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and parent-and-me classes. Camps are open to ages 3 and up in 3-day and 5-day formats with both daytime and evening options, grouped into First Steps (ages 1.5-6), Children's (5-8), Student (8-12), By Placement and Adult divisions. The IX location also hosts CB Moves adaptive dance, free of charge, for students with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and welcomes children with disabilities into the regular divisions with accommodations such as a class buddy or visual schedules. Charlottesville Ballet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and offers Keith Lee Dance Fund scholarships to families that qualify.
