Aartwerk Studio is a wonderful place to learn and expand your painting skills and artistry. B, the owner and proprietor of Aartwerk, not only educates in the basics for both drawing (pencils, charcoal, and pastels) and painting (oils and acrylics), but she also fosters and encourages everyone's individual artistic growth, style, and creativity. I have seen my own work grow leaps and bounds since I joined the studio in Winter 2023, and I can't wait to see how I continue grow under B's caring and joyful instruction.

This place is the absolute best! If you’re looking for art classes in the city nothing beats Aartwerk. Having never drawn or painted anything since kindergarten, I was starting from scratch. I took the Drawing 1 class on a whim a few years back after moving back to the city and wanting to start a new hobby, and I haven’t looked back. B is the ultimate teacher — kind, patient, and insightful. Everyone in the studio is so talented and supportive, it really is a great little community she’s built here. There’s no pretension here, you can take your art as seriously or as playfully as you want, and you will receive nothing but support and encouragement. If you have any interest at all in drawing or painting, I highly recommend signing up for a session to see what this place is all about!

Love Aartwerk and the instructor, B. I've been taking classes for about two years now and intend to continue as long as I can! I get so much out of each class, love seeing the beautiful work others produce, and feel like I grow a lot from B's instruction, feedback, and encouragement. Highly recommended!

Great studio with an amazing instructor. Everyone who attends is extremely friendly and talented. B is helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to drawing/painting. I have seen my talent grow from taking classes here. Do yourself a favor and check Aartwerk out :)

I highly recommend the Aartwerk studio and Ms. Biljana, the art teacher. I am finishing my 3rd class at the studio and intend to keep taking them! I've taken drawing I, drawing II, and painting I. We just had a party and student exhibition and the talent that Biljana (She goes by "B") brings out of people is amazing. The classes are both serious and relaxed. She actually teaches you the fundamentals of drawing and painting fairly quickly (I would take drawing first!), then watches you work and teaches you what you need to know as you need to know it, as it naturally comes up in the process of what you're working on. The atmosphere during classes is festive. People often break open a bottle of wine and everyone is funny and supportive. It's really just a great place.
