I was not aware of the gate access being I hadn't been down there in years. I had pulled into the parking lot unknowingly I would be locked in. I sent my baby in there to ask for a token or pass to be let out. The young Caucasian guy at the front desk told her to tell an adult to come in a get it. So I walked in he asked for my info. I said I literally just came in meeting a customer to drop off an item. He said with a snobby attitude so rude. You need to have a membership.. next time I want let you before he finishes.. I replied it won't be a next time. I guess it made him have a big ego to be so obnoxious and rude for no reason. You can run off potential customers just from his bad hospitality. Maybe get him in some classes or assessments to help with hospitality. I do not like his tone as which he used to speak to me. It was never that serious.

Parking was a mystery. Downtown Dayton is not a real friendly place to park. The gym area is full of machines and free weights. Not my favorite Y but good when Klepz is closed on Sunday.

Having grown up in Dayton during the 50s and 60s saw me have lunch with my father back when there was a cafeteria. Each time I enter the building, I want to go exploring. While the facilities are not totally up to date, it is very functional. While the number of available lockers in the men's locker room are minimal and some showers don't work there is enough equipment to workout effectively. This is also one of only two Y locations that have whirlpool and saunas. BTW. I've gotten turned around a couple of times in this building. LOL

Nice big location. It is in an older building but equipment is in good shape. Parking can be a pain and they charge you to park in the lot. Love the steam sauna.

Despite the website saying they offer free child watch with a play area, this is not true. I was turned away at the door for having my kids with me. Also, their parking lot is ridiculous. I had to call the front desk for them to let me through the gate. It's $3 per day to park in their lot. Back to the West Carrollton YMCA I go.
