Paid $20 to swim for the day. We got absolutely no instruction. Went in the pool with a kid and she was told even with a life jacket she wasn’t allowed in the deep end. This is after being in the deep end for 15 minutes and the lifeguard saying he didn’t see us in the deep end . We were restricted to the 4 foot end, which is very small. Won’t go back.

Can't speak to it's normal use but absolutely horrible location for the Coaster Classic basketball tournament. Too small, no air conditioning. Fans are literally on the court. One team lost possession because they dribbled into a bag that was 2 feet into the court. Bathrooms were gross. All this and it's $20 per person to get in. Coaster Classic and Ohio Basketball tournaments should be embarrassed.

My locker was broken into even though I had a lock on it and I had to file a police report. The front desk people didn’t know what to do nor did they bother calling me after promising they would. DJ who’s the operations manager of the facility said it was. “wasn’t their problem or held liable for the theft”. Even though I was paying for the locker that had my property in it. They were unwilling to reimburse me for what was stolen or for a new lock. They beat around the bush whether they broke the lock themselves assuming I didn’t pay (even though I did pay and was current on payment). Unwilling to help and have a deep lack of urgency about the situation, they brushed it off as not their problem. As for staff there was a few that offered sympathy, but a majority of them had attitude and eye rolling. Other issues with the facility: Very outdated built in assumably the 1960s. Constant mildew and feet smell in the workout areas. Lack of cleaning in sauna and equipment, PEOPLE BREAKING INTO LOCKED LOCKERS. It’s a rundown facility with a lack of staff that cares about why they are there. I will never be going back to the YMCA of Sandusky county. The most clueless and incompetent staff I have ever met. As you read this (03/05/25) planet fitness will be opening up in Fremont by potter village and intend to take my business there for HALF the price with a new building with equipment. Hope this review finds you well DJ and thank you very much for the very poor experience and that smug look you gave me as you told me it isn’t your issue. I look forward for my reimbursement for my last month of march that you “promised” will be in my account within the next few days *if* that’s even happens.

Staff is pretty friendly. The indoor track is ok. That's about where the good stops. The whole place is just gross, extremely outdated, and smells musty. The cardio room reeks of mold and mildew as soon as you go through the door. The ventilation looks so dirty, and it's always hot in there. I don't think there is any AC except for the front area. Between lifeguard shortages, dirty, broken down things, this place pretty much needs to be demolished and rebuilt. Makes me feel gross that I work out in there and am probably breathing in mold and asbestos. Hands down one of the worst ymcas I have seen.

Pretty sure I will be cancelling my membership! First off none of the staff have any answers. Kids play room is not staffed (once since I joined) and i had to learn on my own what was available here. I just packed up a bag and kids for an evening at the Y only to be able to sit here because my 7 yr old cant go in the child room.
