Love the pool here, great for low impact exercises. The only down side is they schedule so many swimming classes at once that as just a member you are limited to one lane and a 10'x10' section.

I got to this YMCA in Winder, Ga for mainly their gym. At times it can be crowded and you have to wait on a machine but for an average week I'd say I end up waiting on a machine about twice a week. Still there is always something available to do while waiting on a specific machine. The other members are usually friendly and if you ever ask someone how to use a machine or have a general question they are happy to show you or help you. This location is nice because everyone that's working out in the gym are doing their own thing and I can say that I have never felt judged or uncomfortable by anyone. They do have rules about dressing appropriately which I appreciate alot and I have seen some people asked to leave for the day due to their lack of clothing. They dont allow cussing or vulgar language which again I appreciate. The equipment is always clean and free of dust plus they have sanitation wipes located throughout the gym to use after your done on the machine. Also with your membership you get 3 free days of having a personal trainer guide you and explain the best routine that will best assist you with your goals. Its a family friendly type atmosphere.

Avoid this indoctrination camp if you care about your family! We canceled our membership after just a few weeks because of constant harassment every single visit. They have incredibly too many rules and give members 0 independence. This place prepares your kid for prison, not real life. If you want to play with your child on the playground, you can forget it. They think it's safer for a stranger to watch your kid than the parent. Whenever I checked on my child in their daycare, they were completely ignoring her. I've seen staff talking horribly to the young lifeguards for very petty issues, then watched these poor kids work in fear. On the outside, we truly thought it was going to be a family fun center, but after only a few visits, I was disgusted to find out it only extinguishes independence, critical thinking, and common sense. The playground is only open during kid watch center hours, and the kid watch center is closed Sunday, only open til noon Saturday, and closed AGAIN from 1-4pm Monday through Friday. No parents allowed at anytime on the playground with their children! My three year old was heartbroken every single time we attempted to visit the Y as she could not play on the purple playground. The indoor pool was closed most of our short-lived membership, and the outdoor pool had so many rules and regulations that it was absolutely unenjoyable. What EXACTLY are we paying so much money for?!

I like this place! The staff is super friendly. My son was taking swim lessons here, and he really enjoyed it . The instructor was helpful to all the kids in the class. However, the only thing I don't like is that in the in door pool area there is only a couple of small benches and the kids parents bring everything and takes up the entire bench which leaves no sitting area for the other patients. Some of the parents there were very inconsiderate and selfish, like their child is the only one there. Please either monitor the seating area or provide more seating to the inside pool. Because you have other classes, leisure swimming, and the parents in the pool area. You have a rule that the parents must be in arms reach of the children, which is hard to do with other people being selfish and taking up the entire bench with their bags. Leaving the parent of a child in swimming lessons sitting on the opposite side of the pool or having to stand up the entire time after getting off of work. Other than that, I like it so far. I havent tried out the other classes they offer. But I will one day.
