I've been coming to this YMCA for about 7 years on a regular basis now and love it. Everything from the staff, equipment, classes, cleanliness and locker rooms are excellent. I've played basketball, done cardio classes, and resistance training, no complaints. Tons of equipment, so no waiting, at least during the day (which includes lunchtime) when I go. When my insurance stopped covering my gym membership this year, the Y responded with reduced rates for seniors. Thank you Y!

This gym is very large, cleanly kept. The locker rooms are very large and modern. I was surprised that the sauna is shared by men and women, the one I usually go to has separate ones in each locker room. I was also surprised that there are no cable pull machines, nevertheless, I was able to do my workout here.

Watch out for their free or $1 join trial fees. They say cancel without penalty, and then they refuse to cancel your membership !! They have small print apparently stating you are TRAPPED in your membership. Not only that, our 1 experience sucked. Waterslides were closed. Thieves

Disappointing Experience with YMCA North's/ NFL Flag Football Centennial League I have been a coach and parent in the NFL Flag organization for the past six years, coaching multiple teams each year, and I must express my disappointment with the transition to the YMCA North running the Centennial League this season. From the start, there was a lack of communication. As coaches, we were left in the dark, receiving no information prior to the season. This resulted in a scramble to find coaches and volunteers at the last minute, leading to parent volunteers stepping in without having registered, completed training, or undergone necessary background checks. The communication has continued to be poor throughout the season, with frequent misinformation and emails being sent to incorrect teams. My team has barely received any updates, leaving us feeling neglected and uninformed. Additionally, the change in league format by the YMCA has been problematic. In the 3/4 grade level, there are only two teams, which has led to one team dominating the other week after week. This is hardly enjoyable for the team that faces defeat consistently. Referee availability has also been a significant issue. We've often had either no referees or just one, leaving games without proper officiating. It strikes me as unreasonable for the YMCA to profit from fees meant for referees when they are failing to provide adequate officiating. There seems to be a lack of accountability from the YMCA as well. I have not seen any representatives from the YMCA at our games this season. Instead, they have left two young men to manage frustrated parents with little information to offer. Due to these experiences, we plan to switch our kids to the flag football sessions run by the Centennial Youth Football Association next year. We've heard positive feedback about that league, and it seems like a much better option based on our current experience. Overall, I believe it would benefit the NFL flag organization to conduct an audit of this league, focusing on financial transparency and player safety.

The YMCA has been good about Covid guidelines but still doesn't require people to take a shower before entering the pools, a MN state law long before Covid. People jump right into the pool in sweaty clothes right off the basketball court! Totally gross! I have talked to staff multiple times at different locations and nothing has changed. Not even a sign posted in the locker rooms.
