★★★★Katharine SwansonMy son played baseball at Phalen Rec this summer. I'm very tempted to give them 5 stars because it was a great experience for us both.. I was impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep, inside and out(rec centers must be the most difficult of places to keep in order) The coaches and staff were amazing! Plus, it's only a 5 min drive from my home. Couldn't have asked for more... Well, maybe a little more serious baseball, for example... Time allotted for practice AND also games. Instead of only games for a bunch of young children who need to be taught how to play too. Still, very happy with everything. Thnks you! 2026 UPDATE My son still plays baseball, basketball and football at phalen. I'm a big fan of Kong the director. He even showed up when the 12U boys basketball team won the SILVER playoffs last wkend!! And check out the top of the line hockey rink, plus Phalen Rec pervides free rental skates. Thnk u to my neighborhood Rec center& staff.

★★★★★Jøe GalløI grew up and played hockey on the east side and Johnson area my whole life. I live in a hockey family and it's a great place to practice hockey or skate for fun. Also a really great to play baseball in the summer, also the main field right next to the building has a huge decline/pot hole like area between home and the mound but other than that games were normal. I do have some questions about the refrigerated rink because I have this project I'm working on so if a rec employee would contact me or have me contact me that would be great!
