Excellent camp, the size of the property and the number of activities is Excellent. My kids absolutely love the camp and this is our first year. The Bus service from Marlborough is a huge benefit, this place checks all the boxes, 10/10

I gave Ben the camp director as well as the supervisor multiple opportunities to make this right! The CEO refused to return my calls. With this year’s registration starting, I feel obligated to write a review. A camp counselor named Evan on a power trip used intimidation to force my son to eat his lunch out of a trash can. My son was threw his lunch away because he was feeling sick and said he didn’t want lunch. He said the counselor kept telling him he HAD to eat lunch and he figured if he threw the sandwich away he couldn’t MAKE him eat it. Unfortunately that didn’t work. My son is ALWAYS hungry unless he isn’t feeling well. He was denied access to the nurses station because “they were too far.” Even though they have golf carts and means of contacting someone to transport him. Not one single person called me that day to let me know what happened. My son told me a week prior that the same counselor made another camper eat their sandwich after he tossed it into the woods. Dirt and all. I wasn’t sure if there was more to the story so I let that go. On the last day of camp I picked my son up and he could barely even look at me. He was SILENT the whole way home until he completely broke down and burst into tears. My son is Autistic and has ADHD. We set him up with a care plan prior to him starting camp. I went to Ingersoll as a kid and always wanted my son to experience it. We live over an hour away from the bus stop and with summer traffic it was taking me about 1.5 hours. So I was driving about 5-6 hours/day for 6 weeks to help my son build his confidence with what should have been the best summer of his life! When I contacted the camp director I was met with, “I highly doubt that’s what happened and I’m sure there’s more to the story.” Well when he called the counselor, Evan admitted that he did in fact make my son eat his lunch from the trash can because he didn’t want him to waste food! There was zero outrage from Ben the director. Instead he insincerely state, “it was an unfortunate lapse in judgement and the sandwich was on top of the trash in a plastic bag.” NO IT WAS NOT. It was in paper which ABSORBS EVERYTHING. I don’t know what was in that trash can. I don’t care if it was completely empty. There is never a situation where it’s okay to force a child to eat especially when their sick and especially from a TRASH CAN! There was absolutely no sincere apology, no solutions offered and no consequences for the counselor. Ben was getting increasingly annoyed that I kept calling for solutions. At one point I said I was absolutely shocked that no one even offered a refund at this point. He said that he would contact his supervisor. They said that since he otherwise had a “good experience” they would only offer a partial refund since it happened on the last day of camp. Had this happened on the first day I would have pulled him immediately. I let him know that, that solution was not okay whatsoever. A refund doesn’t even fix anything, especially since my son never wants to go to summer camp again and the counselor has no consequences. He forwarded me to his supervisor and she was incredibly short with me and kept repeating the same old, “it was an unfortunate lapse in judgment.” How on Earth are these people not outraged that something so horrific happened under their care?! I wouldn’t be nearly as upset if they showed even a drop of compassion. I was told that I wouldn’t be getting a full refund and that I could reach out to the CEO since the decision was theirs to make. She didn’t return a single phone call even to this day. My son’s therapist filed a claim with DCF, but unfortunately they have much bigger fish to fry which is understandable. Plus my son was out of harms way by this point. His pediatrician was about to file a claim until I let her know that his therapist already did. When my son talks about it at school, the school therapist was giro contact DCF until she realized his outpatient therapist already did. EVERY. SINGLE. ADULT I’ve spoken to about this is furious and disgusted accept those at camp.

An absolutely wonderful camp! The director will answer any and all of your questions and make sure your kids are having a great time. I highly recommend this camp. My kids have gone here for years and love it!
