World Dance With Marissa runs week-long cultural dance camps for ages 4-8 in Seattle, each week themed to one world culture (past themes include West Africa, Hula and Hawaii, Polynesia, Bollywood India and European folk dance). Days combine cultural dancing and music with costume and set making, cultural food tasting, outdoor play, stories and art, ending with a Friday 12:30pm performance. Camps run Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm, cap at 10 children, and cost $275 per week with an early-bird rate; campers pack their own snack and lunch. Scholarships are available on request from the instructor, who has studied traditional dance in Guinea, West Africa.

Powered by GoogleI was not sure what to expect during the one week Dance camp we signed up our little son, but Marissa seems to be excellent with kids, and even our shy son enjoyed her classes, and did not want to miss any of them! They made a nice variety of fun activities every day and kids could made friends! This class is so precious, I really appreciate Marissa's knowledge, and her attention keeping kids safe during covid! I am pretty sure we will come and visit her classes again!
My two children did a few dance camps with Marissa this past summer and absolutely loved them! The camps were fun and educational and the show performed at the end of each week was lovely to watch. Marissa is very passionate and knowledgeable about dance and dance cultures and I am truly grateful we got to learn from her this summer. Highly recommend dance with Marissa!
Marissa loves dance and enthusiastically shares her talents with everyone. Not only is she an accomplished dancer, she is also a gifted teacher who cares deeply about each student, showing patience, kindness and compassion. Children thrive when they are more active and when they are exposed to the arts. I highly recommend Marissa’s World Dance classes!
Marissa is an awesome teacher, dancer and all-around person. My daughter went to her dance camp and didn't know any other kids going in and had no formal dance training. She loved it---she had a blast and Marissa made it easy for the kids to develop friendships.
