Seattle Parks and Recreation runs school-age summer day camp at Bitter Lake Community Center, with recreation games, sports, arts and field trips based out of the north Seattle center. Camp is full-day, roughly 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and runs about ten weeks from late June through late August, with open weekly enrollment for ages 5-12. A one-time registration fee plus a weekly deposit applies, and income-qualified families may receive 50-90% scholarships; childcare subsidies are accepted.

★Candi ODo not allow your children to attend the Bitter Lake Preschool. They allowed people to do drugs in their parking lot and they claimed they couldn’t do anything. The big one was when a child punched my son (the youngest one) in the stomach and I was not notified until the end of the day and there was nothing done about it. After voicing my concerns and being ensured nothing would happen to him again, he was continued to be bullied. Then the new teachers took over and it got even worse. They neglected my son to the point where my son didn’t want to go anymore when he use to literally wake up and ask if it was school time. I unenrolled him and I urge you all to not allow your children here. The place is ran by immature staff who rather sit in an office then watch your children.
