Powered by GoogleMy son attended his first day of camp, and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations. I arrived approximately 30 minutes early for pickup and spent time observing camp activities. During that time, I witnessed multiple campers, approximately 6–8 years old, calling one another "losers," "you suck," and accusing each other of cheating. While children will occasionally make inappropriate comments, what concerned me was the apparent lack of intervention or redirection from staff and its day 1. As a parent, I trust that a camp will provide not only a safe environment, but also positive coaching, sportsmanship, and structure. Instead, much of what I observed appeared to be an unstructured scrimmage with limited adult guidance. Most concerning, my son independently reported after camp that the name-calling had been occurring throughout the day and that he did not want to return because the environment felt "toxic", his word, not mine. I have contacted camp leadership and am hopeful they will address these concerns. I will update this review based on their response and any actions taken.
Brice has such a way of getting through to kids. My son has developed skills that he wouldn’t have fully understood if it weren’t for the coach. I recognize that and would like to thank him for it!
I highly recommend World Cup Soccer! For the past 3 years, my son has attended numerous camps and clinics at different locations throughout the South Bay and each coaching staff is consistently top notch. The camps are well organized and coaches go the extra step to help players. I completely trust this team and know that my son will have a fabulous time and will be looked after with care. The camp even sets up tents on hot days, which is an extra step and expense that demonstrates the type of care players receive.
