Powered by GoogleWe had a horrible experience with the current U10 girl's team's coach Jason Mastrodonato. Since the coach took over the team (17G, team 1), the team literally almost didn't win one single norcal league game. In the last final tournament, our team lost to all the other three teams with huge score gaps. This coach liked writing a lot of emails or contents to parents, which sounds very political actually, but does nothing to help the players and their teams. He has zero professional soccer experience and is also incompetent in coaching juniors. He is arrogant with parents, discriminative on players, and ignores reasonable requests from his team players. We can't comment on other coaches, but do avoid this coach at all cost if you are going to the competitive teams of LGU. I almost felt the club was throwing such randomly found amateur soccer fan to coach our competition team when the last good coach left the club. It is like you bought an item that has such bad quality that you felt like getting a refund.
Having participated in recreational soccer before, we were hopeful about our experience with LG United, especially after hearing positive feedback. Unfortunately, our second go at rec soccer proved to be quite disappointing. My fourth-grade daughter's team included second-grade players, which created a significant disadvantage when competing against much older girls. Adding to our frustration, a referee was absent from one game, requiring the coach to step in. The overall disorganization and numerous issues we encountered with the program have led us to the firm decision that we will not be returning and we'll be trying other clubs.
Both of my daughters started in the LGU rec program and moved into the competitive program many years ago. We feel so lucky to be part of teams that feel like big families. My daughters have really enjoyed their teams and their past and current coaches in U13(Luis) and U15 (Erich) have helped them improve their technical and leadership skills while fostering the the love of the game. I am a team manager for both daughters since I see how my girls love it, and I really believe in this program, the coaches, the teams and families. And as a long-time team manager, I really appreciate the support of all of the LGU office, including the amazing Ellen & Phil Gibson!
Absolutely thrilled to share our experience with Los Gatos United Soccer Club! As both a former volunteer coach and now a proud parent of a child in the competitive program, I can say without hesitation that this club offers something truly special for players at every level. The recreational program was where our journey began for both my boys—it provided an incredibly supportive and fun environment where kids learned the fundamentals of soccer while building confidence, friendships, and a love for the game. Now that my child is part of the competitive program, I continue to be impressed by the professionalism, high-level training, and focus on player development. My child’s skills, understanding of the game, and passion have grown tremendously under the guidance of knowledgeable, dedicated coaches who know how to challenge and inspire. The coaches and staff are passionate, organized, and truly care about the kids’ development on and off the field. The community is positive, inclusive, and focused on growth and character as much as performance. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to reach new levels, I highly recommend Los Gatos United—this club has had a profound impact on our family’s soccer journey, and I’m so grateful for it!
Our son has played competitively for LGU for 2 seasons now and we genuinely love the club, the community, the coaches and the experience. He has grown so much as a player through the guidance of the amazing coaches and has built such a strong bond with his team mates. LGU truly fosters a love for the game and we are glad to be a part of this club.
