Wilmette Gymnastics is the Wilmette Park District's gymnastics program, based in a 10,000+ sq ft gym at the Community Recreation Center on Glenview Road. Its summer gymnastics camps are listed among the district's sports camps in both full-day and half-day formats, with optional day-extension add-ons, and register through the district's resident/non-resident system. The gym carries standard men's and women's Olympic events plus an enlarged pit and two in-ground trampolines, and a separate padded, carpeted area sized for preschoolers; a glass-enclosed viewing area lets parents watch. Year-round offerings run from adult/tot (18 months) through recreational and USA Gymnastics competitive team, plus tumbling for ages 9-17 and open gym.

Powered by GoogleI was a Level 10 gymnast and competed for a D1 NCAA SEC school. Two of my daughters attended a summer camp here. Avoid this place…not only do the coaches have zero regard for children in general, they have absolutely no technical coaching skills. I could barely stand to watch it…pulled my daughters immediately. Wish I could give it a zero star rating.
What a joke. An absolute waste of money and some of the people they have 'instructing' the children shouldn't be within 10 feet of a child. I watched this grown man completely ignore his group of 3 and 4 year olds, walk away several times while the toddlers were on equipment- then when I confronted him all he had to say was "Ma'am, they'll be fine." What?! I am currently trying to figure out who I report him to.
Not sure if anything changed, but 20 years ago when Jim Skully was the owner, he would constantly yell at the kids, the coaches had little to no experience with coaches constantly coming and going. We couldn't take it anymore and went to Peterson Park gymnastics at Chicago park district even though we weren't residents. Cheaper and much better.
My son who was 2 at the time was in a gymnastics class and the coaches are so rude to these kids. A male coach grabbed my son by his arm and swung him out of the line that his group of kids were in. His boss didn’t care and there was no repercussions for this coach. Beyond disappointing.
Wilmette Gymnastics is a phenomenal place to learn the fundamentals of Gymnastics and compete in all levels of competition. !!! The Founder, Jim Scully, now retired, constructed a solid foundation with an excellent support staff/ coaches. Mike K., now the Boss, has done a great job carrying the torch. My daughter started in 3rd grade and continued on thru her Senior Year at New Trier, participating in Club and New Trier Team Gymnastics, and reaching Level 10! Great and Safe Program!!!!!!
