My daughter attended Lakeshore Academy for a little over a year and I couldn’t be more disappointed in an establishment. In that year not a single one of the staff (outside of Coach Vance, who is a great human being) ever introduced themselves, not a single coach knew my name nor did I know theirs. The staff is rude, condescending and downright impersonal. They are constantly raising their prices without transparency, and charge an outrageous $50 late fee on payment. I got the impression that all my child was to these people was a payday and I’m so not ok with that. In a place like Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, gymnastics centers are a dime dozen, so I would think customer service and healthy relationships with the children and their families would be a number one priority but nope, not at Lakeshore Academy. We have since switched to another establishment and couldn’t be happier. If you’re ok with your kid being just another number, then this is the gym for you. I wish I could give them negative stars.

Tried to have my son try out for team. Filled out the paperwork to pay the $100 registration fee and the front desk lady wanted to argue about whether it was paid or not. Tried to get an understanding on what else was needed but kept arguing. Tried reaching out to the owner who said didn’t want our business. So unfortunate as they have good boys coaches. Shame they find it more important to argue than work through communication and do what’s best for the kids.

Be careful with giving your credit card on file to this gym! We were there for 3 years (2 of those years my daughter was on a team) and realized the gym had increased rates without any notification. After looking back and doing the math, our rates had increased 55% over 18 months. Once the team parents realized this, we emailed but got no response. We started calling around to other gyms and found we were paying almost double for the same program at other gyms. This place only cares about money and no care for the gymnasts. Wish we had realized this sooner as we found a place that is transparent about things.

My daughter has attended this studio for about six months now and we couldn’t be happier. We live 25 minutes away from the MP location, but it’s definitely worth the drive. This is the cleanest and most professional gymnastics studio I’ve found in the area. Marla and staff / coaches are friendly, professional, and supportive. My daughter has already shown such an improvement since attending the intermediate class. I look forward to her growing with the studio on a competitive level for many years to come.

My 2 year old daughter started gymnastics here on Saturday mornings with Ina & she is LOVING it! Classes for this age group can be tough to manage and keep everyone’s interest throughout the whole class, but we’re always having fun regardless! From when my daughter started 2 months ago to now, she has already grown so much in her confidence and skills. We also love to watch the older kids practicing as well! The only con would be the parking situation which can at times make us late while we wait for the limited parking to open up after waiting up to 10 minutes after our class has started.
