Westport Country Playhouse runs CampWCP, a four-week summer theater camp for middle-schoolers (grades 6-8) at its professional theater. Mornings focus on acting and afternoons on playwriting and production as campers build an original piece, meeting Monday-Friday 10am-3pm. Scholarships and payment plans are offered to remove economic barriers.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Westport Country Playhouse directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleI came here to see a comedian a while ago. I’m asthmatic and I have allergies particularly to dust. I could not breathe the entire time; I was wheezing, I was coughing and congested. It was awful and my partner at the time was fine, he didn’t have the same health issues as me, but I believe this is because the curtains and the seats are made of velvet and they contain a lot of dust that’s not properly managed, and you should look into that for people with allergies. I’m saying vacuum the seats and deal with the velvet curtain dust. This is lazy.
Friends and I recently came to see The Importance of Being Earnest. It was very good I must say. Can't wait to see the next show.
Great theater, extraordinary sound. Every act I've seen here has been simply amazing. The quality of the sound production and acoustics in the room are simply amazing. I do think they overcharge for concessions
"Theatre People" at the WCP was superb; incredible set design, beautiful costumes, and sublime music transports the audience back to 1948. The comedic writing proved to be hilarious and the amount of times the cast broke the fourth wall was, to quote one of Arthur's lines, "the perfect amount of too much". Bravo 👏
Was honored to see The Sherlock Carol. What an amazing play in such a beautiful theater. The seating, the sound and the staff could not have have been any better. What a perfect place to have such an incredibly written play. You truly made my Christmas! Thank you!
