Westpoint Martial Arts Academy in Memphis teaches PasaRyu, a mixed martial arts style drawing on karate, taekwondo and kung fu, with training in Korean terminology, stances, kicks, blocks, forms, sparring and self-defense. Youth classes are grouped by belt rank, with Little Ninjas for ages 5 to 7 and beginner, intermediate and advanced classes for ages 8 to 17 on Mondays and Wednesdays, plus Friday sparring and weapons classes for ages 7 and up. The academy also runs an after-school program with homework help, a snack and indoor and outdoor play at a park, and it offers private lessons and free trial classes. Cheer and boys' and girls' tumbling classes are offered only in summer, in June and July.
