Powered by GoogleSuch a wonderful soccer program! The coaches at West Loop Soccer Club are truly fantastic — positive, patient, and great at keeping kids engaged and excited about learning. They focus on building skills, teamwork, and confidence while still making every session fun. The environment is welcoming and encouraging, and you can really tell they care about each child’s growth and progress. The classes are well organized, communication is clear, and the facilities are always clean and safe.
Our son has been participating in WL soccer club for the past year and we have been really happy with his coaches (Stefan and Kaitlin). To see his progress over the past year has been great and we are looking forward to the spring outdoor season!
If you have young kids, kids who are new to soccer, or kids who are a bit shy, this is NOT the club for them. Unfortunately, WLSC seems to have a monopoly on kids soccer programs in the city area, so it was the only soccer camp we could find during this pandemic. However, they are understaffed, do not communicate or miscommunicate with new parents (unless you already have experience with the club, you are likely going to be very confused because they send out conflicting logistics information - and the coaches sometimes give you different instructions), and do not pay attention to younger kids causing a lot of issues that could have been avoidable. More significantly, some of the coaches need training on emotional intelligence and diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI) for teaching kids. Having said the above, my family had a very poor experience with lots of safety, lost equipment, and care related issues with our young child, but if your child is older (8+), you probably won't have as many concerns - that is, if your child is confident and will speak up for her/him/themselves.
West Loop Soccer Club has been great for my son. He has learned so many new skills, gained confidence, and had plenty of opportunities for game time. The coaches are thoughtful, have a good balance in being firm yet playful, building good relationships with the players, and they love what they do. The families are dedicated and respectful to the team. All around a great experience!
Both of my sons (aged 5 & 8 years) went to West Loop Soccer Club for a week this summer. It was the hottest week of the summer and I was ready to pick them up early everyday. Not only did they make it but they had a thorough workout, learned good sportsmanship, and had a blast. The coaches were great (all of them)! Now, my older son plays on the team twice a week — and loves every minute of it. This isn’t one of those dance-in-a-circle and sing songs kind of camps. They work on fundamentals, love soccer, and always make it fun. I’m beyond impressed with the entire program and am lucky to have found it.
