If I could give Ms. Mariana at Waterworks Aquatics 10 stars, I would! She has been training our two sons for the past two years, and the results have been nothing short of a miracle. We started from absolute zero for our younger son, going from different swim school to this one; Our younger son was around 4 years old at the time and was utterly terrified of water, he wouldn’t even let it touch his face. Ms. Mariana’s patience, warmth, and gentle approach completely changed everything. Within just a week or two, he went from crying at the edge to absolutely loving the pool. Fast forward to today: our boys train with her three days a week. In just five months of working with her, they went from "zero to hero," competing in swim meets and winning first place, time improvement ribbons and trophies! Every single session, Ms. Mariana goes above and beyond. She meticulously corrects their form, ensures they practice all their strokes, refines their diving, and pushes them to excel while keeping it fun. Two boys, two complete different character, but she is the best knowing how to handle each one. She has truly become more than just a coach to our family. She is so deeply invested in the kids that she even accepts our invitations to their birthday parties (and guess where they want their bday? Right, in same pool), and the boys are always overjoyed to have her there. She is a phenomenal instructor and an incredible human being. If you want the absolute best for your kids, look for Ms. Mariana first!

Waterworks Aquatics at Bascom's facilities are clean, indoors, offer plentiful seating with spacious showers/changing areas, and provide balmy pool waters that don't chatter your children's teeth and turn their lips blue during the lesson. Parking is easy. Its administrative staff is cheerful, ready to help, and greets us each time we come in and out of the pool area. But the MVP darling of Waterworks is a swim instructor we happened upon for our first lesson. Little did we know that the front desk would exclaim that Nallely is the best, and we would later find that Nallely has a waitlist because she is highly requested by parents. Nallely is exceptional: she built rapport with my extremely slow-to-warm daughter who cried and refused to enter the pool, then had my daughter smiling and practicing kicks and floats mid-lesson. Nallely loves her students, swimming, and teaching - she cannot contain her joyful but not overwhelming enthusiasm. Nallely makes every child feel like they are the most important person in the room. Nallely is experienced in water safety, stroke formation, and communicating with children. Nallely works hard, is punctual, warm, honest, funny, and will give parents a full report at the lesson’s end. Our children have had strict swim instructors who run drills only, and our children have had lenient/nice swim instructors who just play with water toys and burn time. Nallely combines work and fun flawlessly; she expects her students to work and progress but also while having fun. My daughter looks forward to swim lessons with Nallely every week - she gets herself ready. I have countless videos of my daughter grinning and laughing while learning new swim skills with Nallely. In just a few short months, Nallely has taught my 4 year old water safety, rollover breathing, and is beginning freestyle in the bigger pool with beautiful form. Please recognize this gem, Waterworks!

I hosted my daughter’s birthday party yesterday at Waterworks Aquatics on Bascom Avenue (1120 S Bascom Ave, San Jose) and I honestly couldn’t wait to write this review because the experience was so wonderful. This was our first time hosting a party at Waterworks Aquatics in San Jose, and from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcomed and supported. Planning a kid’s birthday party can be stressful, but the team here made everything feel easy and smooth from start to finish. A huge shoutout to Jimena (our party host), Jaidan, Jonah, and Jam. They truly went above and beyond to make sure my daughter’s birthday was special. When we arrived, they helped me unload all of the party supplies from my car, which immediately took a lot of stress off my shoulders. Throughout the party they checked in to make sure everything was going well and helped keep things organized. The lifeguards were fantastic and very attentive in the pool. As a parent, it gave me peace of mind knowing the kids were having fun while being supervised by such a professional and caring team. What impressed me even more was their kindness after the party ended. They helped with cleanup and even helped carry items back to my car. That level of customer service is rare and it really shows how much the staff at Waterworks Aquatics cares about families having a great experience. The facility itself was great — the pool was clean, the amenities were excellent, and it was the perfect space for kids to celebrate and have fun together. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the incredible staff and their positive energy. My daughter had an amazing birthday and hasn’t stopped talking about her party. Seeing her that happy meant everything to me. If you’re looking for a place to host a kids birthday party in San Jose, I highly recommend Waterworks Aquatics at 1120 S Bascom Ave. We will definitely be recommending this location to our friends and family. We’ve been with Waterworks since 2019, and all three of my kids have had the joy of swimming with Francisco. My two older children are currently in Stroke Clinic, and my youngest son has been taking lessons with Francisco for over a year now. I honestly can’t recommend him enough. He truly loves kids and has a natural gift for making them feel comfortable in the water. He has such a fun and creative way of explaining things that keeps my kids fully engaged. He’s incredibly sweet and patient, and my youngest trusted him very quickly—even when he first started swimming at just one year old! Now, my son is completely at ease in the water, which means so much to me. Water safety is absolutely essential in our family because we spend a lot of time at the pool and beach. As a parent, I feel more confident knowing my kids are learning to be safe and confident in the water—thanks to Francisco, who truly cares about them.
