Powered by GoogleCarolina and Jamal can make anybody dance confidently! They are lovely and their teaching style is very thorough yet easy to follow. I love how the class is split between theory and practice with different dance partners, as well as the additional events like socials, practica, etc. I would also love to add how nice and welcoming the whole staff is :) I’m so happy I found this community here in Portland.
If you are hoping for any direct feedback from a teacher, I don't recommend this class. Salsa 1 was about 80 people for 2 teachers. It was not a helpful way for me to learn the dance, I'm going to look for much smaller class sizes. It would be helpful if that teacher/student ratio was more transparent before signing up.
I was really excited to learn Kpop yesterday & i was so happy it was the choreo for the song "like JENNIE" it was a fun class the teacher was really good. But i was really disappointed that our choreo ended right when the chorus was about to begin. I feel like we wasted so much time on the earlier part of the song which is just a lot of walking & was not able to reach the best part of the choreo. For an 18$ dance class it seemed overpriced because when i did it in other places it felt like the experience was worth it coz we actually learned the main choreo of the most important part of the song & i was only able to take a video of myself right at the end. I wish video taking was prioritized more. Because i want to record my experience and share it on social media. So for next time I wish we just went straight to chorus and did not waste time learning the first part and just have a more fulfilling dance choreography experience
I took dance classes here for 3 years. I was on their salsa performance team. Every single member of our dance team is now at Lines Dance Academy. You can’t do worse than VMAC.
LOVE IT HERE! I've been taking bachata classes and I can’t recommend Deblin and Adayl enough! They are absolutely amazing instructors - so much fun, very skilled and patient! Not to mention genuinely welcoming to everyone, no matter your experience level. I’ve seen the way they interact with each student and they care deeply about teaching and creating a positive space. The other instructors, classes, and workshops offered at VMAC are fantastic too. So many fun options to learn and grow and dance! Highly recommended!
