I’ve lived all over the world, and I can honestly say that Elite is the best dance school my three daughters have ever attended! Sara, Karin, and all of the dance teachers are incredible—so talented, patient, and supportive. The entire staff is fantastic, even those you don’t always see. A special shoutout to Phyllis, who has helped me so many times with payments and scheduling—she’s amazing. What sets Elite apart is that Sara hasn’t just built a dance studio—she’s created a safe, welcoming space where kids feel like they belong. It’s a place where they build friendships, learn to support one another, grow in confidence, and as a result, become truly fantastic dancers. I’m so grateful for Elite Dance Studio. My daughters absolutely love it and can’t wait to go to their classes each week!

If I’m being honest Elite was just too much of a harsh, non friendly, non-accommodating dance studio for me. Through every sickness, sudden difficult life event, and obstacle that I’ve experienced this past year, this studio has not shown me an ounce of sympathy. The teachers didn’t care for my ‘excuses’ as I tried to explain why I hadn’t been able to attend class the following week, making me feel like I’ve been silenced and ignored, other than that, I’ve noticed that children of the staff are not only being favored over all others but also put as a higher priority. The only staff that I noticed treating all dancers fairly were Ms. Josie and Shelly, two of the best teachers and the two kindest personnel in the entire building. I wouldn’t support the advertising around Elite as some family friendly, sweet, and heartfelt studio, and the only thing that might keep you from leaving is the fear of the rumors and lies they will make up about you when you go, whether you’re a PC, CC, or recreational dancer, you can easily see the gossip and drama spread all around the studio, there is tension, lots of crying, and sometimes even bullying in group chats, and Elite organized group activities outside of the studio. The drama during the recitals really boils up, with the usual quick changes brought by the dance world, this studio also adds uncomfortable and terribly stuffy dressing rooms, a backstage that has so many hidden wires and cords on the floor, that tripping is highly expected, and unsupervised bathroom trips with many girls all at once, that almost always lead to someone’s makeup getting ruined, and tears smearing their recital outfits.

My son LOVES the teachers at Elite. The staff do a great job of fostering a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment for the dancers to learn and grow. We've only attended a handful of other recitals, but Elite's production quality is definitely top-notch. We highly recommend Elite!

Our daughters have been dancing at Elite Dance Studio ever since we moved to Portland 5 years ago.  They have taken classes in tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, ballet and tech.  They were initially part of the Performing Company (dancing at Blazers games and Disneyland!) and are now part of the Competitive Company where they compete with 5-7 dances each year.  The teachers and staff at Elite take a personal interest in each dancer, and it really feels like a family.  The teachers choreograph wonderful dances, have a sharp focus on technique, and work hard to bring out the unique qualities of every child.  It has also been amazing to see our girls grow not only as dancers, but as confident young women.  Elite Dance Studio gives them a safe space to try new things, be creative, and develop their craft.  The dancers are a really close-knit group and many older dancers stay involved even after they have graduated as seniors.  For so many of these girls, Elite is a special place, and their friendships extend beyond the studio and will last a lifetime.  We are so happy that our daughters found Elite and I know so many of the other families feel that way as well.  I would encourage anyone who is considering this studio to give it a try!

They strike the perfect balance between technique and creativity, making every class engaging and inspiring.
