Powered by GoogleMy daughter has been taking weekly oil painting lessons for over a year now. It’s the highlight of her week. She has learned so much from Coco and she respects her as an artist as well. She’s done the studio art and plein air summer art camps, and she’s excited to experience the new combo camp this summer. She’s also done her special classes eg Great Plates. Coco provides a fun and safe place for my daughter to create pieces of art that she’s proud of. Coco is a great teacher and easy to communicate with. After one year of working with Coco, my daughter has not only learned new artistic techniques but has also learned to clean up after herself and follow directions better. She started working with Coco when she was 8. In a year, I’ve seen a dramatic improvement in her artistic abilities and her enthusiasm for art has only increased. She will continue to work with Coco for years to come. I couldn’t recommend a better place to expand your love for art.
My child loved the art camp. The instructor went above and beyond to help her when she needed it. I would highly recommend this camp if you have a child who loves art.
My daughter has absolutely loved her classes at the VanCo studio. Her teacher was super patient and a wonderful support while she’s been working on technique. We will 100% taking as many classes as we can.
Our daughter loves to paint and really wanted a painting party for her 11th birthday. Sadly VanCo has horrible, non existent communication. Inquired about their services and despite multiple emails, voicemail, Facebook message- waited weeks..... nothing. No response. Other friends have echoed their less than stellar customer service and communication.
I registered my 7 and 9 year old girls for a summer art camp at VanCo Art School and they were really excited. My older daughter did well and produced some great looking art. I have no complaints about the art but the owner/teacher is not skilled in the art of communication or in dealing with slight behavior issues in children. I would not recommend sending your child here if they can not sit perfectly or produce perfectly good art for this teacher as she is very particular and doesn't like the kids being even slightly messy. Art for kids is about being creative and experimenting and being a little messy is part of the learning process. A child who has trouble with this would not be a good match for this camp/class. Also, as a parent, if you wish to communicate in any form with the owner/instructor then all bets are off. She doesn't return phone calls or emails unless it is for you to make a payment for the class. My younger daughter attended one day of the camp then became sick and per doctor's orders could not attend the rest of the week. The school policy does not deny partial refunds in this case, it only states the deposit is non-refundable. The owner, in person, verbally agreed to a partial refund but never followed through or responded even with a doctor's letter, multiple voice mails and emails. The camp is expensive and only worth it if you have just the right child, money to waste if something should come up, AND if you don't have professional behavior of high importance on your list of qualities for a business owner.
