On Pointe Dance & Movement

I sadly have to retract my original review for what started as a very positive experience. We thought we had found our dance home, that was local and affordable, but unfortunately decided to leave last December. I found that the owner was very unorganized. On multiple occasions we arrived to dance, my daughter dressed up and excited for her session, only to find out class had been canceled and they “sent an email”. So, I loaded up my now VERY upset toddler and headed back home. I have scoured my emails and to this day am unable to find any evidence of any canceled class notifications. On top of the disorganization of classes, I found that there was never any viable book keeping practices. I often arrived to class being asked to pay for the next session when, per my records, we still had sessions remaining. I additionally became concerned when I found the owner taking down my payment information on sticky notes at the front desk. I have not found any unapproved charges to my account, but this is an extremely dangerous and ineffective way to store people’s account information! I additionally had concerns for the “structure” of the classes being provided. We started with a movement class that seemed to go well and my daughter enjoyed being in class with other children. I inquired about a beginners ballet and we were then signed up for “Mini Ballet”. My daughter was the only child in the class, and while it was enjoyable for her at first, it became very clear that the “class” had been practically made up just to get us paying for another. No structure, no peers, and the day we showed up for class, my daughter dressed up in full blown ballet attire, only to find a locked door and no posted notice of closure or “email”, was our last trip to On Pointe. You should never have to call a “business owner” to ask why they are absent from your scheduled service. I hope these poor business practices have changed and On Pointe is serving our community with true integrity, but they have unfortunately lost my business.

She values what you bring to the table and is mindful if you have limitations. Her years of experience have made her a true gem. Our community is extremely lucky to have her and her school.

They have excellent instructors that work really hard and do a great job keeping the kids engaged in dance. They offer classes for all ages (dance and yoga), we are so fortunate to have a great little gem like this in Eaton.

Both of my girls, 5 and 11, have been doing ballet and hip hop classes at this studio. We love it! The teacher/owner is amazing. She makes every child feel special. She loves her community and does many things to support that. She is very aware of working parents schedules and has many options to choose from. She is also very affordable and is always trying out new things keeping it fresh!
