Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts

Discovering Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts has been such a blessing for my family. We were looking for an outdoors arts-based camp that offers a safe and comfortable environment and what we found in Usdan was more than we ever expected. My daughter started in the Discovery program and she has just completed a year in the Partners in Arts program. She really really loves it and the experience lights her up in ways that we don't normally see during regular term time. She appears to enjoy everything: her classes, her counselors, making new friends and travelling to and from the campus on the bus each day, and spending time in the pool each day. One of the things that has stood out to me is the level of comfort with which she engages the staff. I love that she gets to make friends of all ages and I can see how being in that environment has just added to her confidence particularly in new spaces. Usdan is excellent at creating community and I definitely recommend them whether your child has a deep passion for the Arts or you are just looking for a safe space in which they can explore different Art Forms and have a fun summer.

As an educator, I respected Usdan well before I became a mother. With almost 60 years of experience, Usdan offers children endless, authentic experiences in the arts. Children are free to choose from a robust list of class offerings with outstanding professionals across artistic fields. When the time came to find a summer camp for my daughter, it was important to find a community that was diverse, inclusive, and progressive, and we were thankful to learn that Usdan is committed to these values too! This summer (2026) will be my daughter's third year in a row attending Usdan, and I truly can’t speak highly enough about it. The programs are outstanding, the teachers and staff are friendly and professional, and my daughter has made wonderful friends each year. There is so much to do—it's the perfect mix of enrichment and fun that my daughter was looking for. She loves the flexibility of U-Time to reconnect with friends, has thrived in the music and musical theater programs she's been part of, and always looks forward to the daily live entertainment. And of course, the ice cream for the bus ride home is a favorite highlight. I highly recommend Usdan to any parent whose child genuinely enjoys the arts. It has truly become a special part of our summer.

We have made it an annual tradition to come for the rise of the jack o lanterns. This year they added a few more things along the trail which were great. Highly recommend coming to this event!

We went for the rise of the jack-o-lantern. Great amount of carvings and decorations. It is a long walk through a winding trail through the woods. The paved path takes about an hour and a half to walk through. It's a bit steep at times, but it's not too challenging. It cost about 30 dollars per person and there was ample parking. All in all, a great stop. Just need to buy tickets in advance and bring a printout copy because there is no cell signal. There's not much that you can buy on site ,so bring your own food and drinks with.
