Just had our annual quilt retreat at Twinlow. The area is so beautiful and serene. Just love to get away. However, I must say that the facility was not very clean. I do see a lot of staff around, but none appear to be doing any cleaning. We stayed in Selkirk lodge and our room appeared to be clean upon the initial visit but once we were in there, it looked like it had not been vacuumed in a very long time. There were a lot of spider webs behind the door and a lot of debris on the floor from obvious past visitors. The shower in the washroom was quite dirty so we chose to wear flip flops in the shower. It was quite hot when we were there so we slept with the windows open but there were no screens on any of the windows. The pillows that were provided were quite soiled and luckily, I travelled with my own linens and pillows. I walked past the laundry area which there was garbage overflowing onto the ground and towels were left in the washer. As for the dining hall where we were all day, the toilets were very dirty and stayed that way the whole time. The garbage in there was overflowing onto the ground by the last day even though we tried to keep pushing it down. I do understand that we were in a wilderness camp, but I do think that it is not much to ask that there is some cleaning being done on a regular basis. I do wish to send a special shout out to our lady that did prepare all our meals as she was amazing and stopped at nothing to make sure all our meals were delicious. She put in a lot of extra time to make sure of that!

We just had a retreat at Twinlow. While the facility has a beautiful lake view, the property is in disrepair and is in need of paint, refinishing wood decks, repairs needed on dock, pillows and mattresses need replaced. The staff was very nice and helpful. They were very accommodating with the dietary needs of their guests. They have recently experienced water damage in some areas downstairs inside the dining hall as well. Be sure and go see the property prior to scheduling your retreat or wedding.

I stayed at Twinlow with a large group this summer. We loved the natural wilderness setting, the rustic cabins, the camp kitchen/food, and the waterfront. Even though this camp was created in 1928, it had updated amenities and a “modern” coffee shop where my group bought lattes and candy daily! The staff went out of their way to meet our needs: answering questions, providing sports equipment, and addressing concerns regarding individual nutrition requests. All we had to do was ask. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to play, relax, and connect with others, I recommend Twinlow.

I had the pleasure of being a volunteer at Twinlow this summer and what a treat it was to get to spend time on the beautiful grounds and with such a wonderful staff. Everyone is warm, welcoming and inviting. The camp is beautiful with incredible views of the lake, a private and meticulously maintained waterfront, rustic charm with modern amenities (the Oar coffee shop!) and is a great place for visitors of all ages to have fun and build relationships with each other. The food is excellent with many options to accomodate dietary restrictions and allergies. Twinlow is definitely a gem in Northern Idaho! I can't wait to be a visitor or volunteer again soon!
