★Sherri KulinkOdd experience with daughter trying out for U11 girls Rec+ soccer team. I’m not sure if she was ever identified correctly at the try out. I let her run ahead to get started with tryouts. Apparently they couldn’t find her on the list then. I parked the car and slowly made it to the field with my toddler. I see 3 adults chatting and my daughter frustrated trying to get her number pinned to her shorts and no one offering to help. Afterwards, I had to push to get a response from try outs 2 days after results were supposedly released. Didn’t pick up my call. Texted asking what I needed and then 7 min later, sent a decline email. Not exactly the best communication and I’m still not convinced they even knew who she was. Very odd process. I appreciate volunteer coaches but not so sure if that’s the best approach for teams with tryouts- bring your daughter and her teammates from rec. Sorry if you aren’t in that group. That might not be what happened but is certainly how it felt.
