Train Your Brain Project Operates an Exclusionary Daycare Masquerading as an Educational Program Parents considering Little STEAM Camp via DPR and/or Train Your Brain should be deeply concerned. The lead teacher, Ms. Harris, consistently appeared disengaged, overwhelmed, and emotionally unprepared to manage a preschool classroom. She routinely remained SEATED for most of the day, with minimal active interaction or supervision. For 3–5 year olds, this lack of hands-on engagement and movement is unacceptable. Young children require constant guidance, redirection, and presence. Ms. Harris also brought her upper middle school–aged child into the classroom EVERY DAY, which disrupted the learning environment and raises serious questions about professionalism, boundaries, and supervision priorities. The classroom lacked structure and routine, and behavior management felt reactive rather than supportive. There was little evidence of intentional teaching or social-emotional skill building. The overall tone felt tense and exhausting—for the children and the adults. When concerns were raised with Jennifer Mack, Owner of Train Your Brain Project, accountability was notably absent. Rather than addressing issues within her own program and staff, she was quick to redirect responsibility to DPR, despite this being her organization, her hiring decisions, and her management structure. This deflection is troubling and leaves parents without a clear path for resolution. In all transparency, I received a refund... but the damage to my child by Ms Harris is done. Communication with families is poor and largely reactive. The program appears chronically understaffed, with frequent absences, late arrivals, and day-to-day instability that children clearly feel. Families pay for licensed care and education, not disengagement, deflection, and disorder. Programs operating in partnership with DPR should be held to a much higher standard—especially when serving our youngest children.

Ms. Jennifer and her team host FUN camps for kids focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). It’s a mix of classroom learning, STEAM related field trips and visits to local museums. My kiddos enjoy their time there because they’re able to be creative — whether through art-making, building projects, or food-related activities (cookie decorating!). For me, I appreciate the communication with the instructors, so I know my kids are okay.

Working with this age group was natural but challenging at times but I found ways and techniques with my great team to make a difference with majority. In every classroom camp site or school there are some that require wrap around support and services I am grateful to have expertise in these areas as a mom and advocate for children with special needs. However, it would be more beneficial to all that the parents try therapeutic services before enrolling their youth in structured learning programs which need more one on one support. The summer was amazing and the children enjoyed learning and exploring the Stem program. I would recommend this program to all children who are willing to learn explore and enjoy.
