Trail Blazers runs an overnight summer camp on a 1,000-acre estate in Montague Township, Sussex County, where campers live in family-like groups of eight to ten peers. Days are spent biking trails, canoeing the lake, working a challenge course, cooking over a campfire and heading out on overnight expeditions, with campers sleeping in rustic canvas shelters and learning outdoor survival and environmental skills. The camp is entirely electronics-free, and the nonprofit provides transportation from Brooklyn NY, Elizabeth NJ and Paterson NJ. The organization is over 130 years old and has run this property since 1939.

★★★Layton HicksOverall was a fun camp. I did the 1st session this year. My only issue was Chef Julia’s really bad food and when I found a fingernail in my jerk chicken. If Tom sees this tell him he was my favorite counselor
★banga watsonI also went here when I was younger I did learn a lot of survival skills and met some preset cool ppl… my whole three weeks was horrible I caught poison ivy… I didn’t know nothing about poison ivy at the time so this had my stay miserable… I was so mad at my mother for sending me there… My counselors was cool and a few of my peeps…
★★★★GlyphVery bad organisation from admins. They planned a hike on a 3 day thunderstorm. Staff and kids were miserable. Bad food. A child had disability and had a weak ankle and was booked to go on a 6 hour hike Lots of activities were either run down or completely broke. For example all of the fishing rods were Tangled or had no line. Overall the camp is very rundown and I recommend no one staffer nor camper Edit: looking back 2 years later it provided good memories to look back on could have been better but at least it was memorable
