Powered by GoogleMy kids, 4 and 9, loved Tom Denney. My 9 year old always looks forward to it each year. They have learned so many fun games there, that they then use throughout the year to cure boredom. No supplies (or often parents) needed. It's one of the few places that let incoming kindergarteners with summer birthdays attend. The kids get dirty, but it's such a positive dirty that you can't be too upset - that's what mudrooms and washing machines are for. Just be sure to save your kids grungy sneakers at the end of the school year!
My son has attended this camp every year since we moved to the area and it is his favorite of all camps. We love having a camp that aligns with our ideals so close by, we even frequent the conservation on a regular basis when the camp is not in session and our son regales us with stories of how fantastic his adventures were. We love seeing his confidence blossom, and are grateful for all the outside time he gets in the summer. Communication with the counselors is top notch, emails are returned within minutes and my son has never come home without a smile, a story, and a new friend (sometimes from upper classes!). Highly recommend.
Tom Denney Nature Camp is fantastic. My kids have been going every summer from when they were little. They love the nature activities, being outside, and the camp counselors. Being at camp has helped my kids socialize, learn new skills, and appreciate nature. I highly recommend TDNC!
I have been familiar with the Tom Denney Nature Camp since I moved to Bolton in 1987 and became a director on the Trust. My daughter attended the camp and became a counselor. I am now planning on sending my granddaughter. The camp has always been one of the most important things the Trust does. It has been well run and provides a strong STEM impact on the kids. I highly recommend it to all parents.
Tom Denney Nature Camp has for many years been a summer center of open air experience, fun (hiking, games, swimming), personal growth and awareness of nature for children in the vicinity of Bolton, Harvard, Stow and other communities in eastern Massachusetts. Our kids had a great time as campers and grew into counselors as part of TDNC programs. It is important to note that the Camp was open this summer (2020) with carefully thought-out and approved protocols. It was challenging for camp counselors and administrators but was definitely a big "plus" for kids and families who were involved.
