theCoderSchool is a coding school for kids founded in 2013, now a franchise of over 70 locations teaching more than 7,000 students a week; this is its Syosset location. Its summer coding camps serve ages roughly 7-14 and run a full week each, covering video game development, robotics, Minecraft, Roblox, JavaScript with HTML/CSS and mobile game development. Each camp carries an age and skill-level recommendation, though the school says placement is open to discussion based on a child's coding experience. Camps typically start mid-morning and end early afternoon, and some are offered as half-days.

⸻ This was our child’s first experience with a programming course, and at first we were a bit worried that she might find it too difficult or lose interest. But the teachers were amazing — professional, patient, and full of humor. Their engaging way of teaching helped her understand everything easily, and now she absolutely loves her coding classes. She even takes part enthusiastically in all the extra activities. We’re so grateful to have found the right place and truly appreciate all the teachers for their dedication and support!

My daughter is called Queenie. She loves it here. She has received the best teaching and care here. I will keep her studying here. Every teacher is conscientious and responsible. Everyone is very nice. It's really a great programming school.

My son was interested in coding class so we gave this place a try. They offered a free trial and right after that we signed my son up. He loves it and has a great time every week. Everyone we interact with is super friendly. If your kid is interested in coding, I would highly recommend!

Great place to get kids interested in coding and the Internet of things in general. Clean well maintained facilities. Good stock of resources for students. Driving in is a little challenging because of the layout of the entrance, but once you are past the learning curve, all good.

My third grade son told us he is interested in learning Python. We are so glad to find the Coder School! Super friendly and professional staff. Geri-Lynn, the school manager walked us through a trail class and all the questions we had. Currently my son is in 1:5 Python class with Coach Jason. He said Coach Jason is always very patient and makes sure if he understands each step. Most importantly, the coach sends a weekly learning note and assignment and it’s very clear to let parents know the progress. We are looking forward to my son to joining the code competition which I heard they offer different ones constantly. It’s a great way to encourage students to apply what they learned.
